Who Will Save The Stranded Sea Turtle?

On a quiet tropical island, a large green sea turtle found herself in trouble. She had come ashore during the night to lay her eggs, but by morning, she was stuck in the dry sand. Too far from the waves, her flippers couldn’t push her free. The hot sun burned down on her shell, and she was growing weaker with every minute.

A large sea turtle stranded on the sand, surrounded by a group of monkeys observing her.

Up in the trees, a group of monkeys spotted her. They swung down from the jungle canopy to get a closer look. “She’s in trouble,” said Milo, the cleverest of the group. The others looked worried. No animal they knew had ever been trapped like this before.

Without hesitating, Milo started digging. He used a palm leaf to scoop sand away from the turtle. The others joined in, using sticks and their hands. The turtle blinked slowly. She couldn’t speak, but the monkeys could see the fear in her eyes—and they knew they had to keep going.

As they worked, Milo had an idea. “We need to bring her water!” he shouted. Some of the younger monkeys ran to the shore, filling coconut shells with seawater. They poured it around the turtle, cooling her shell and softening the sand beneath her.

The wet sand helped. With a strong push, the turtle managed to move a little. The monkeys cheered and kept digging, now making a path toward the sea. Each wave came closer, giving them more hope.

Finally, as the sun began to lower, a big wave reached her flippers. The turtle gave one last push and slid into the water. The monkeys danced and hugged each other with joy. She was safe—because they had worked together.
